Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Neurosurgical patientsof either gender in the age group 18-65 years of American Society Of Anaesthesiologist(ASA)grade II-III undergoing Elective Craniotomy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Any patients with Systemic infections, cardiac disease, degenerative neurological disease, hepatic disease, diabetes mellitus, pregnant and nursing females.

To Evaluate the effects of Dexmedetomidine infusion on the inflammatory markers(cytokines)i.e.,interleukin-6(IL-6),Interleukin-10(IL-10),Tumor necrosis factor(TNF-alpha) and C Reactive Protein(CRP) as ompared to standard anaesthesia care in adult neurosurgical patients undergoing Craniotomy.Timepoint: Blood samples are taken for inflammatory markers(cytokines)i.e.,interleukin-6(IL-6),Interleukin-10(IL-10),Tumor necrosis factor(TNF-alpha) and C Reactive Protein(C-RP) at Baseline,1 hour Post Surgery, 12 hour Post Surgery and 24 hour Post Surgery.	—
