Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients diagnosed with schizophrenia as per ICD 11 2) Age of the patients shall be between 18-45 years. 3) Patients not on any psychotropics for past 2 weeks. 4) Patients willing to participate and give consent or in case the patient lacks mental capacity, his/her nominated representative willing to give consent to participate. 5) Patients not having a major diet change that is shifting of non vegetarian diet to vegetarian diet or vice versa in past 3 months.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients who are not willing to give consent. 2) Pregnant and breast feeding patients. 3) Patients with co-morbid psychiatric illness and substance dependence. 4) Patients with severe medical and surgical illness. 5) Patients with history of depot antipsychotic administration in the past 3 months. 6) Patient already on vitamin b12 and folic acid supplements.
