Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients aged 18-65 yr with American Society of Anaesthesiologists physical status I-III undergoing elective, single- or two-level Anterior cervical discoectoy and fusion.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The patients with a history of allergy to local anaesthetics, pregnancy, and patients with known psychiatric or neurological conditions unable to complete QoR-15 questionnaire

postoperative pain relief measured as VAS score and total fentanyl consumption at 24 hr after surgeryTimepoint: postoperative pain relief measured as VAS score and total fentanyl consumption at 24 hr after surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
quality of recovery questionnaire (QoR-15) that will be administered at 24 hr postoperatively, to assess dysphagia, side effects, hospital discharge times and NDI at the time of discharge and 3 months.Timepoint: At the time of discharge and 3 months.
