Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age of the patient should be between 30-60 years. Decayed Missing Filled Teeth(DMFT) index �1 Periodontal Index- 0-0.9 In good general health or diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and having a minimum of 20 natural teeth (excluding third molars).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals were excluded if they were unable or unwilling to sign the informed consent, History or presence of any other systemic illness except Diabetes mellitus (type 2),Pregnant women, diseases of the hard or soft tissues, impaired salivary function, were exposed to antimicrobial drugs within 30 days prior to the first study visit, participated in any other clinical study within 1 week prior to enrollment in this study, currently used tobacco products, were required to have dental treatment during the duration of the study, were immunocompromised, or received periodontal treatment within the last 30 days.
