Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All consecutive patients of age >18 years with clinicaland radiological diagnosis of acute appendicitis will be included in study group.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Intraoperatively patients having other pathology other than appendicitis like, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), ovarian cysts etc. Patients with heart failure, hematological disease, cancer, chronic infectious disease, liver disease, vascular disease, infections or inflammatory disease and patients who are taking medications that can affect platelet count and volume.

| To assess the diagnostic accuracy of platelet indices and red cell distribution width in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis. Timepoint: At the time of admission: Complete Blood cell Count sent on routine basis will be collected. Post operative biopsy will be collected once approved by a designated Pathologist. | — |
