Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age group between 21-45 years irrespective of sex, religion, socioeconomic status and food habits. 2. Patients showing classical signs and symptoms of Karshya like, Kshudhaasahatva, Pipasaasahatva, Daurbalya, Nidrakshaya, Shushksphika, Shushkaudara, Shushkagreeva (16) 3. BMI below 18.5 kg/m2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient depending upon steroids, analgesics drugs for the relief and currently participating in any other clinical trial (since last 6 month) 2. Patients who are known case of autoimmune disorders- diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism. Infectious diseases- Tuberculosis, HIV, congenital and hereditary problems, Malignancies, Malabsorption syndrome, chronic rectal bleeding, metabolic disorders and any other acute systemic illness. 3. Patient with reduced 5% or more of his/her bodyweight within last month of examination.

To study the effectiveness of Bala churna compared with Vidarikanda churna in the management of Karshya with special reference to Underweight to be assessed by Body Mass Index.Timepoint: follow up in 28th,56th day.
