Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with trauma related to injuries involving the unilateral ZMC with arch fracture who have to be treated surgically and followed up. Patients who require closed or indirect reduction for arch fracture. Patients age between 18-70 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with comminuted arch fracture which require plating of arch. Patients who are not willing for follow-up for a period of 1 month.

MeasureTime frame
Outcome measures to be assessed: a. Distance of zygomatic arch from temporal bone on fracture side and compared with contralateral normal side. Measurement to be taken pre-operatively and post-operatively on routine CBCT scan. b. Any discrepancy of arch symmetry to be assessed by digital palpation by a blinded observer. c. Recording of Maximal inter-incisal mouth opening to be done both pre-operatively and post-operatively. Timepoint: outcome to be assessed at the end of the time of post op check
