Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All children between 1 and 6 years of age posted for elective infra umbilical surgeries

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Study exclusion criteria includes children with a history of developmental delay or mental retardation, a known or suspected coagulopathy; a known allergy to any of the study drugs; and any signs of infection at the site of the proposed caudal block, emergency surgery,ASA 3 or 4,Preop gcs <14/15.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the duration of post operative analgesia with caudal Morphine,or Clonidine, or Dexmedetomidine in children undergoing infra umbilical surgeries. Timepoint: on arrival in post anaesthesia care unit (PACU), 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours time points in the PACU. On arrival in the ward: 0 hour, 1 hour, 2 hour, 6 hour, 10 hour, 14 hour, 18 hour and 24 hours after arrival in ward.

MeasureTime frame
To study the number of doses of analgesic required during first 24 hours.Timepoint: First 24 hours after surgery.
