Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All patients receiving new antibiotic for confirmed or presumed infection during their ICU stay will be included in the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Antibiotics started as prophylaxis during ICU stay will be excluded from final analysis but their data will be collected for calculation of antibiotic days. 2. Antibiotics started before ICU admission will be excluded from final analysis but their data will be collected for calculation of antibiotic days.

| 1. To study antibiotic prescription pattern in an Indian ICU. 2. To study the factors associated with appropriateness of antibiotic prescription. 3. To look for any association between appropriateness of antibiotic use and outcome of infection. 4. To study the process of antibiotic de-escalation in an Indian ICU. 5. To document the time from antibiotic prescription to administration of antibiotics and its association with the outcome of infection. Timepoint: Patients will be enrolled for 1 year period. Till the last enrolled patient is discharged from ICU. | — |
