Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: i) Either gender, >= 18 years old, attending emergency medicine Department at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, Karnataka ii) Acute febrile illness for more than 5-15 days, Fever will be defined as more than 37.5°C tympanic or oral temperature at presentation or within the last 5 days of presentation. iii) Written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: i. Those patients who have an established microbiological diagnosis or localized source of infection at presentation
