Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants with normal hearing sensitivity and sensorineural hearing loss. Participants reporting sensitivity towards sound.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals diagnosed with conductive or mixed hearing loss. Individuals with complaints or history of psychiatric disorders. Individuals under medication that may have side effects of auditory hallucinations.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Identifying patients with Hyperacusis and classifying their degree using Johnson Hyperacusis Quotient will provide more information regarding the condition which will help us plan for appropriate intervention measures. Timepoint: First visit to Audiology OPD

To estimate the prevalence of cases with Hyperacusis and develop an assessment protocol.Timepoint: First visit to Audiology OPD
