Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age 3 to 8years. ASA physical status 1 or 2. Posted for elective below umbilical surgeries under general anaesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of developmental delay/ mental retardation Anomalies of spine and central nervous system Contraindications to regional anaesthesia. History of allergy to drugs used in study. History of bleeding disorders Infection at injection site Patients found unfit for surgery in pre anaesthetic evaluation

1.Incidence of complications like hypotension (fall in SBP20% from baseline), bradycardia (HR 60/min), prolonged motor block, nausea and vomiting, apnoea, desaturation (SpO290%) and urinary retention. 2.Duration of motor block and its characteristics 3.Postoperative sedation scores Timepoint: Postoperatively motor block using Modified Bromage score and degree of sedation by Ramsay sedation score evaluated at 0minutes, 30minutes, 1, 1.5, 2, 4, 8, 24 hours
