Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All patient undergoing Bipolar Cemented Hemiarthroplasty Of Hip. 2. Physiological age >60 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Any sign or symptom of local or remote site infection. 2. Previous surgery of hip causing alteration of anatomy of joint and surrounding tissues. 3. Tumours of the hip. 4. Ankylosing spondylitis. 5. Pre-existing neurological deficit like hemiparesis. 6. Arthritis of hip.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. Duration of surgery. 2. Intra-operative blood loss. 3. Coronal and sagittal orientation of femoral stem will be assessed on AP view and Cross table view. 4. Version of the femoral stem will be assessed on CT scan.Timepoint: Patient will be assessed intra-operatively and radiological assessment will be done afer post-op day 3.—

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Intra-operative anterior and posterior stability of hip. 2. Incidence of dislocation. 3. Function of the hips after surgery using Harris Hip score. 4. Abductor muscle strength as per MRC Grading.Timepoint: Patient will be assessed intra-operatively and fuction of the hip, abductor muscle strength will be assessed on 6th week and 12th week.—
