Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Group 1T2DM with healthy periodontium No periodontal treatment in the prior 6 months. T2DM patients who have HbA1c levels between greater than 7 % Periodontally healthy subjects Group 2 T2DM with chronic periodontitis Patients with moderate to advanced chronic periodntitis T2DM patients who have HbA1c levels greater than 7 % No periodontal treatment in the prior 6 months. Group 3 Systemically healthy subjects with chronic periodontitis Nondiabetics Patients with moderate to advanced chronic periodntitis No periodontal treatment in the prior 6 months. Group 4 Systemically and periodontally healthy subjects Periodontally and systemically healthy subjects Nondiabetics No periodontal treatment in the prior 6 months.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Any known systemic diseases other than type 2 diabetes mellitus (for Groups 1 & 2) Patient under medicine treatment for at least 6 months except treatment for diabetes Insufficient platelet count ( Tobacco use " Pregnancy
