Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Serum sodium level less than 135 mEq/L and symptoms of hyponatremia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Altered sensorium not due to hyponatremia, any known cause of intracranial pressure, occular injuries.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Change in diameter of optic nerve sheath.Timepoint: 0 hour (diagnosis of hyponatremia) and at discharge from Emergency Department.—

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement in symptoms of hyponatremia.Timepoint: 0 hour (at diagnosis) and at discharge from Emergency Department.—
