Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age: 18 â?? 60 years of either sex ASA Physical status I-II Patients under going tympanomastoidectomy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal ASA Class more than 3 BMI More Than 30 Contraindication to study drugs Hepatic renal and cardiac insufficiency Pregnant and lactating mothers Uncooperative patients Patients with chronic pain on opioids Inability to understand VAS score

1. To study the analgesic efficacy of superior cervical plexus block with dexmedetomidine over fentanyl in patients undergoing tympanomastoidectomy in both intraoperative and postoperative period. 2. To study the side effects and the duration of analgesia. Timepoint: 1.At baseline 2.At 5 minutes 3.At 10 minutes interval upto 2 hours 4.Thereafter every 15 minutes interval till end of procedure
