Interventions

Intervention1: As per standard treatment protocol: Patients will be treated as per routine protocol, patients with dystonia & dyskinesia will be treated with tetrabenazine starting at 25 mg OD and wi
maintenance 120-320mg PO divided q8-12 hr and patients with drug-induced parkinsonism will be treated with trihexyphenidyl 1mg/day, then increased 2mg every 3-5 days until reached 6-10mg/day ± clon

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Age >18years 2. The presence of new-onset abnormal involuntary movements such as parkinsonism, tremor, dystonia, and tardive dyskinesia (TD), 3.A clear temporal relationship between medication initiation and symptom onset: Acute - within minutes-days of exposure (Ayd, 1961; Garver et al,1976), Tardive - exposure within 6 months to onset of symptoms (Fahn,1989)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. History of extrapyramidal disorders before the use of offending drug 2. Patients/ attendants refusing consent

MeasureTime frame
The outcome of DIMD will be categorized as reversible or irreversible. Reversible DIMD was defined if the abnormal involuntary movement completely disappeared after cessation of the offending drug, whereas irreversible DIMD was defined if the abnormal involuntary movement persisted or recurred after discontinuation of the offending drug, or if patients were taking medications to control symptoms of DIMDTimepoint: 1 YEAR
