Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All children and adolescents with steroid sensitive and steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome (complete or partial remission) with at least 6 months of disease duration

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children who have history/ documentary evidence of having received vitamin D 60,000 IU or more in last three months Children with congenital nephrotic syndrome Children with chronic kidney disease

Vitamin D deficiency and altered serum osteocalcin levels in children with nephrotic syndromeTimepoint: Subjects in complete or partial remission with at least 6 months of disease duration

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Comparing serum calcium, phosphate and PTH levels between steroid sensitive and resistant subjects 2. Correlation of cumulative annual prednisone needs dose with serum vitamin D and osteocalcin levels 3. Detection of hyoercalciuriaTimepoint: 6 months
