Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Skeletal Class II malocclusion (ANB > 4â?°) Retrognathic Mandible with positive VTO Age group: 10 to 16 years. Bilateral Class II molar relationship - half cusp or full cusp Developmental age - Cervical Vertebra Stage and MP3 stage around the adolescent growth spurt.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Previous history of Orthodontic treatment Angles Class II Division 1 Subdivision Malocclusion Angles Class II Division 2 Malocclusion Congenitally missing teeth (excluding third molars) Syndromic or craniofacial anomalies Severe facial asymmetry Systemic diseases that may affect the orthodontic treatment results Poor Oral Hygiene

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To cephalometrically analyse the skeletal, dental and soft tissue effects of Uniblock functional appliance in the treatment of growing patients with Skeletal Class II Division 1 malocclusion prospectively. Timepoint: 6 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the effects of Uniblock Functional Appliance with those of Twin Block and Advansync2 appliance. (Both the samples of Twin Block and AdvanSync2 will be taken from a prospective study planned previously in the department.) A Patient Centred Outcome: Numerical Rating Scale to gather information on the patient�s perception of the appliance, directed at the effect of the appliance on pain, discomfort,speaking and eating. Timepoint: 6 months
