Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients between the age of 15 and 70 admitted to the neurosurgery or neurology ICU with severe brain damage of known etiology- Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), Traumatic brain injury (TBI), Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), Ischaemic stroke, comatose (GCS- 3 and FOUR score- zero)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Refusal of consent by relative 2. CNS infections as the cause of coma/ Severe sepsis 3. Severe facial trauma including forehead scalp hematomas 4. Unevacuated SDH 5. Polytrauma â?? Lung injury and prior history of respiratory disease impeding ventilation and oxygenation 6. Prior history of cardiovascular disease
