Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: -Age 21 to 60 years -Male -Ability to read, write and speak Kannada, Malayalam or English -Diagnosed with Alcohol Dependence Syndrome by a consultant psychiatrist on the basis of ICD 10-DCR criteria -Minimal withdrawal symptoms (CIWA-Ar score -No use of benzodiazepines at least 12 hours prior to testing

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -Presence of any other major independent psychiatric illness -Presence of any major physical illness (hepatic encephalopathy, chronic renal disease, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders) -Presence of any major neurological illness (epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, degenerative disorders) -Poor visual acuity -Harmful use of any other psycho-active substance other than nicotine
