Intervention1: MELOSET 3MG: Tablet Meloset 3mg is given to the intervetion group after scaling and root planing for 20 days.The group is prescribed 1 tablet before bed time. Dose- 3mg Frequency route

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Healthy adult patients between 25-70 years. 2.Individuals with mild to severe periodontitis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.smoking >20 cigarettes/day 2.uncontrolled diabetes 3.immunosuppression (pathological or drug-induced) 4.current therapy with antiresorptive drugs (bisphosphonates) 5.pregnancy and breastfeeding 6.patients in need of antibiotic therapy or treatment with antibiotic in the previous month

MeasureTime frame
Following clinical parameters will be recorded at baseline for healthy group and periodontitis group:Plaque index (Silness and Loe 1967),Gingival index (GI),(Loe and Silness 1963),Probing depth,Clinical Attachment level and Serum IL-8 level. Timepoint: BASELINE

Following clinical parameters will be recorded after 20 days only for experimental group:Plaque index (Silness and Loe 1967),Gingival index (GI),(Loe and Silness 1963),Probing depth,Clinical Attachment level and Serum IL-8 level Timepoint: 20 days
