Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA I, II, III

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with deranged coagulation profile 2.Patients with severe malformations of the spine and spinal cord/intraspinal lesions. 3.Patients with history of hydrocephalous, elevated intracranial pressure. 4.Patients with history of unstable epilepsy • Any infection at the site of epidural needle insertion

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
PRIMARY OUTCOME: 1.Agreement betweenultrasonographically measured skin epidural depth and corrected measured skin epidural depth at which loss of resistance( LOR) is achieved. SECONDARY OUTCOME: 1.The best view amongst longitudinal, paramedian and transverse to visualize the epidural space ultrasonographically. 2.Correlation between weight based formula and ultrasonographically measured skin epidural depth. Timepoint: AFTER INSERTION OF TUOHYS NEEDLE IN OPERATION THEATRE

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1 The best view amongst longitudinal, paramedian and transverse planes to visualize the epidural space ultrasonographically. 2 Correlation between skin epidural depth measured by weight based formula and ultrasonographically measured skin epidural depth. Timepoint: After statistical evaluation
