Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: We will include newly diagnosed sputum positive pulmonary tuberculosis patients, follow up patients of previously diagnosed sputum positive pulmonary tuberculosis and sputum positive pulmonary tuberculosis patients admitted in the TB wards. We will also include previously treated patients presenting with sputum positive pulmonary tuberculosis on follow up. Patients > 18 years old will be considered for inclusion.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Any patients who are sputum negative with suspicion of tuberculosis going for further testing, patients having HIV and/or diabetes, or those who are critically ill, paediatric age group and very elderly patients will be excluded.

| We expect to find significant difference in number of patients with sputum conversion and resolution of chest x-ray findings in all three groups (Group 1 having serum protein more than 6 mg/dl and serum albumin more than 3.5 mg/dl, Group 2 having serum protein less than 6 mg/dl and serum albumin less than 3.5 mg/dl and Group 3 having serum protein less than 6 mg/dl and serum albumin more than 3.5 mg/dl) with Group 1 having the highest number (as it acts as a control).Timepoint: 3 months | — |
