Intervention1: N ACETYL CYSTEINE:
Intervention agent-Infusion of 5% dextrose with N-acetylcysteine with an initial loading dose of 150 mg/kg/h in 250ml over 1 hour, followed by 15 mg/kg/h in 500ml

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All patients satisfying the definition criteria of acute on chronic liver failure as led by Asian pacific association for the study of liver disease
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma 2.Patients with serious underlying respiratory illness(s). 3.Patients with underlying serious cardiac illness(s). 4.Patients with underlying serious neurological illness(s). 5.Patients who tested HIV positive during or before enrolment of study. 6.Patients who opted for liver transplantation or not given consent. 7.Pregnant patients. 8.Patients known to have allergic reaction to N acetylcystine.
