Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing elective laparoscopic hernia surgery under general anesthesia. Age Group 16-65 years of either sex. ASA grade I & II.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Peri-operative bleeding greater than one litre. Need for blood transfusion. Presence of any infections. Duration of surgery more than 180 minutes. Administration of any drugs in preoperative and/or intraoperative period which might alter the result such as Tramadol, Meperidine, Hydrocortisone. Known hypersensitivity to anesthetic agents from previous history Patients who are on antiemetics or steroids preoperatively. Patients well known history of psychiatric illness.

Presence of postoperative shivering.Timepoint: Presence of postoperative shivering (more than grade 0)in "The Shivering Classificationâ?? proposed by A.W.A. Crossley and R.P. Mahajan. post operative shivering to be monitored till the discharge of the patient from post operative care unit.
