Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The individual who have BMI value of 25 and above based on ICMR classification, total cholesterol above 200mg/dL, Low density lipoprotein more than 130mg/dL, High Density Lipoprotein less than 40mg/ dL, More than 180mg/dL in triglyceride levels. who can read and write English and Tamil were included in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The individuals who have chronic illness includes metabolic disorders, hormonal imbalances and cardio vascular disorders, learning difficulties and who cannot read and write English and Tamil were excluded from the study.

Ten week of intake of cumin powder with hot water, will significantly decrease the Cholesterol Level. Total cholesterol : Less than 200 (but the lower the better) HDL cholesterol : 60 mg/dL or higher. LDL cholesterol : less than 100 mg/dL. Levels of 100 to 129 mg/dL are acceptable Triglycerides : Less than 149; ideal is 100 mg/dLTimepoint: Ten week of intake of cumin powder with hot water

Kidney Function profile such as Urea, Creatinine The normal serum creatinine range is 0.6â??1.1 mg/dL in women and 0.7â??1.3 mg/dL in men. The normal BUN level for healthy adults is 7â??20 mg/dL Timepoint: Ten week of intake of cumin powder with hot water;Liver Function Profile maintain the normal range of values for AST (SGOT) is about 5 to 40 units per liter of serum (the liquid part of the blood)Timepoint: Ten week of intake of cumin powder with hot water;Liver Function Profile will maintain the normal range of values for ALT (SGPT) is about 7 to 56 units per liter of serumTimepoint: Ten week of intake of cumin powder with hot water
