Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. BMI >30 kg/m2 2. ASA Status II 3. Patients scheduled for elective laparoscopic bariatric surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient refusal 2. ASA III, IV 3. Known allergy to propofol 4. Impaired cardiopulmonary, hepatic, renal function 5. History of chronic inflammation or treatment with immunosuppressants 6. Malignancy 7. Active smoking 8. Obstructive or restrictive lung disease 9. Alcohol dependent currently 10. Pre-existing coagulation disorders 11. Active or resolving pulmonary or systemic infection
