Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients with type 2 diabetes taking siddha medication 2) HbA1c level between 7% and 10% 3) Able to perform the technique in the protocol. 4) Willing to participate in yoga therapy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)HbA1c less than 7% and more than 10% 2)Patients with type 2 diabetes taking allopathic medication 3)Patients with clinical manifested evidence of diabetic complications, cardiovascular complications such as uncontrolled hypertension, Myocardial infarction, Mitral prolapse.

To evaluate the effect of Yoga therapy and Siddha medicine on 1) Anthropometric parameters (BMI, WC) 2) Physiological parameters (HR, BP) 3) Biochemical parameters- Fasting and post prandial blood glucose level, HbA1c, HOMA-IR,Lipid profile, Blood urea and serum creatinine 4) Psychological parameter (QOL -Ferrans and Powers) 5) Traditional siddha parameter as per treatment guidelines, NIS [4] -Neikuri Timepoint: Evaluation will be done before and after 4 months for each patient.
