Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient posted under General Anaesthesia with duration American Society of Anestehsiologist (ASA) grade I or II Between age 18-50 years of either sex

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal for procedure. History of recent respiratory tract infection. History of pre-operative sore throat. Smoking habit. Patient on long term steroid or analgesic treatment. Patient on chronic treatment with Magnesium.

Incidence of post operative sore throat .Timepoint: 24 hours after surgery

MeasureTime frame
Incidence of sore throat . Severity of sore throat . Incidence of cough and hoarseness of voice .Timepoint: 0,2,4,6 and 24 hours after surgery . 0,2,4,6 and 24 hours after surgery . Within 24 hours of surgery.
