Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients of age 18-65y, of either gender, belonging to American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I and II, scheduled for elective Infra-umbilical surgeries under subarachnoid block.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with contraindication of Subarachnoid block. Patients having hyper-sensitivity to drugs used in the study. Patients with significant co-morbid conditions. Patients with history of analgesic abuse/drug abuse/ cognitive impairment/ psychiatric illness.

To study and compare duration of differential analgesia in patients undergoing elective Infra Umbilical surgeries using three different doses of Intrathecal Dexmedetomidine (2.5μg, 5μg, 10μg) as an adjuvant to Bupivacaine(H) 0.5% in subarachnoid block.Timepoint: Time from onset of Bromage score 0 to requirement of first rescue analgesic.—

MeasureTime frame
To compare total duration of analgesia, onset of sensory and motor blockade, intraoperative hemodynamic parameters and sedation, cumulative analgesic use in 24-hour period postoperatively.Timepoint: Intraoperative and Post operative till 24 hours—
