Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Children who do not qualify in the definition in the definition of Pediatric acute respiratory distress syndrome as per PALICC guidelines or who are not on invasive mechanical ventilation Hemodynamically unstable patients, patients who require peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis, patients with increased intraabdominal pressures with risk of abdominal compartment syndrome, burns cases more than 20 percentage, raised intracranial pressure, serious facial trauma, air leaks with chest tube such that prone position not possible, chronic respiratory failure or non invasive mechanical ventilation
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To study improvement in oxygenation index at the end of 24 hours of prone positioning in mild and moderate Pediatric acute respiratory distress syndromeTimepoint: At the end of 24 hours of randomisation | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To study effect of prone positioning in mild and moderate Pediatric acute respiratory distress syndrome on other outcome parameters like mortality, ventilator days, length of PICU stay, ventilator free days at day 28 ,need for sedation . Timepoint: 2 year of study; To study effect of proning on trends of driving pressures and mechanical power in Pediatric acute respiratory distress syndromeTimepoint: 2 years of study | — |
