Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: Patients newly diagnosed to have tuberculosis with either AFB staining or Gene Xpert analysis or newly diagnosed to have Extrapulmonary Tuberculosis with any of the following reports: Lymph node FNAC or Biopsy report, Pleural fluid analysis report, CSF Gene Expert report and who are willing to give consent will be included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with chronic liver disease or chronic kidney disease Patients receiving vitamin D supplementation Patients with HIV positive status Patients with Type 1 diabetes mellitus Patients on anti-epileptic medication

MeasureTime frame
Comparison of vitamin D levels in normal population versus tuberculosis patients may reveal association of vitamin D deficiency in patients with tuberculosis. Vitamin D levels may correspond with AFB bacterial load. Timepoint: 2 years

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Vitamin D profile in pulmonary versus extra pulmonary tuberculosis remains to be seen.Timepoint: 2 years
