Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients with history of more than 8yrs diabetes scheduled for elective surgery. 2.American Society of Anaesthesiology physical status classification I and II patients.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Pregnant patients. 2.Patients with upper gastrointestinal obstructive disease. 3.Non-diabetic neurological diseases. 4.Gastro esophageal reflux disesase. 5.Previous gastro intestinal surgery. 6.Chronic kidney diseases. 7.Recent abdominal trauma. 8.BMI >30kg/m2

Residual gastric volume measurement using antral cross sectional area with formula in semisitting (30°-45°) and right lateral position in diabetic and non- diabetic patients.Timepoint: 8 hours fasting
