Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Eligibility criteria for patients and their caregivers Inclusion criteria 1. Patients with symptomatic secondary bone metastasis from solid tumors of breast, colon and rectum, head and neck, thoracic and prostate and their caregivers 2. Present at the time of data collection. 3. Willing to participate and give written consent in the study 4. Patients and their caregivers who can read and write Hindi/Marathi/ English

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients less than 18 years of age 2. Patients who are developmentally/mentally and/or physically unable to participate

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the quality of life of patients with symptomatic bone metastasisTimepoint: On day 1 After obtaining written informed consent EORTC QLQ C-30(version 3) and EORTC BM 22) questionnaire in Marathi/Hindi/English will be administered to participants.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To assess coping strategy used by patients and their care givers 2. To ascertain the possibility of developing nursing theory to aid in care of patients with bone metastasis Timepoint: Of 40 participants, five participants who score least along with their caregivers will be interviewed using an interview guide which will be audio recorded. Re interview may be conducted by either telephonic conversation or in-person with audio recording
