Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with maxillofacial trauma involving the Zygomatico-maxillary complex region who report within one month of the trauma. 2. Patients who will be managed non-surgically 3. Patients age between 18-70 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with associated pathologies like cysts or tumors of the jaw bones. 2. Associated Le fort fractures. 3. Patients who are not willing for follow-up for a period of 6 months.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Assessment of the following parameters: Step Deformity Mouth opening Nerve Paresthesia Ophthalmic condition Aesthetic deformity Persistent pain on chewing/biting. Timepoint: First visit to the hospital after trauma, 3 months and 6 months post trauma.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Determining the efficiency of non-surgical intervention of Zygomatico-Maxillary Complex fractures, formulating guidelines for decision making in the management of Zygomatico-Maxillary Complex fractures and to help create a consensus among the clinicians. Timepoint: At the completion of the study
