Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients of either gender (50-75yrs) of age diagnosed with primary OA knee of tibio-femoral joint as defined by ACR clinical criteria. 2.Radiological grade II, III of knee osteoarthritis according to Kellgren-Lawrence classification.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients having secondary OA knee and bleeding disorders. 2. Ipsilateral cruciate or collateral ligament injury within past three months. 3.Intra articular treatment with any product or joint lavage. 4. Any arthroscopic procedure within prior six months. 5. Any knee surgery within prior twelve months.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To study the clinical outcome in OA knee following Platelet Rich Plasma injection using Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score(KOOS) and Visual Analog Scale(VAS) scoring system.Timepoint: 6 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the cartilage thickness pre and post PRP injection by ultrasonography.Timepoint: 6 months
