Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All patients older than 18 years and anticipated to be intubated for longer than 48 hours and spend more than 7 days in critical care with enteral feed will be included in the study
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) pregnancy 2)Trauma to the lower limb 3)History of neurological, neuromuscular or muscular wasting diseases 4)Vascular insufficiency or amputation of the lower limbs 5)Prolonged immobility prior to admission to intensive care 6)Unable to tolerate enteral feed 7)History of patients on long-term steroids
