Intervention1: systemic administration of vitamin d: oral administration of 1,25 dihydroxycholecalciferol in the form of oil based capsules - 20,000IU one in 30 days for 3 months (3 capsules totally)

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment following extraction of first bicuspids

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: any systemic and metabolic diseases diseases/ailments influencing vitamin d metabolism non extraction type of cases being treated orthodontically
