Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Known asthmatic children aged 2 to 12 years who present to the general medical department and pulmonology department with an acute asthma exacerbation.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Reported use of oral corticosteroids in the 4 weeks before the current episode; 2. history of intubation; 3.concurrent stridor; 4.Pediatric Respiratory Assessment Measure (PRAM) score more than 8 (life threatening asthma & near fatal asthma) 5.chronic respiratory disease or cardiac disease
