Intervention1: Orbital decompression surgery: The patients will undergo Unilateral orbital decompression surgery, with bony wall and fat decompression, depending on severity of proptosis, under genera

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Only Moderate and severe TED with modified Clinical Activity Score less than 4/10 (inactive TED) Non smokers or smokers who have left smoking for more than 1 year

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: All known cases of Diabetes Mellitus, Coronary Artery Disease, Optic Neuropathy due to causes other than Dysthyroid Optic Neuropathy, Optic Atrophy, Exposure keratopathy, Pregnancy, Uncontrolled hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, Active smokers

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome will be measured in terms of change in orbital blood flow parameters – namely PSV, EDV & RI in Ophthalmic artery and Central retinal artery, measured by Colour Doppler imaging at end of 3 months.Timepoint: 3 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcome will be measured in terms of complications of surgery in terms of ocular motility, diplopia, proptosis (by Hertels’exophthalmometer), OCT RNFL thickness and sensations along distribution of infraorbital nerve. Timepoint: 3 months
