Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 60 patients Scheduled for single level lumbar discectomy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participant refusal Allergic to study drugs Cervical or thoracic level laminectomies Spine-fixation surgery History of previous spine surgery Neuromuscular disease Psychological disease Inability to understand visual analog scale (VAS) Systemic use of steroids

MeasureTime frame
To compare the analgesic property of gelfoam soaked epidural morphine with gelfoam soaked epidural dexamethasone following discectomy in 24 hours postoperative follow up.Timepoint: 24 hours postoperative follow up.
