Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Pregnant women admitted to labor room and undergo vaginal delivery at KAHERâ??s, Dr.Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Belagavi during the study period. 1) Live singleton pregnancy with cephalic presentation, anticipating normal vaginal delivery. 2) Hemoglobin >= 9g/dl

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: â?ª Placental Abnormality- o Placenta previa o Invasive placenta (placenta accreta/ increta/percreta) o Abruptio placentae â?ª Eclampsia â?ª HELLP syndrome â?ª Previous PPH â?ª Intra uterine fetal death â?ª Fetus with congenital malformation â?ª Malpresentations â?ª Cephalopelvic disproportion â?ª Previous cesarean delivery or uterine scar â?ª Women on low-molecular-weight heparin or anti-platelet agents â?ª Known case of bleeding disorder

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome will be assessed by the amount of blood loss at the end of 1hour following vaginal delivery .The total blood loss is measured by the total blood in the calibrated collector bag at the time of bag removal.Timepoint: One Year

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcome includes the percentage of women experiencing a 10 percent postpartum decline in hemoglobin ,which is directly associated with blood loss.Timepoint: One Year
