Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Periodontally healthy. Patients undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment. Patients requiring premolar extraction for orthodontic treatment.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with systemic diseases. Presence of local infections or any other dental pain. Use of pain or anxiety medications.

Pain reduction using the Numeric Rating ScaleTimepoint: Patients will be instructed to answer the survey a total of 5 times for each activation: at the start of retraction activation (T0), 4 (T1), 24 (T2), 48 (T3), and, 72 (T4) hours for the 3 initial consecutive activations.
