Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients undergoing surgery for lumbar prolapsed intervertebral disc

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patients with significant cardiorespiratory,hepatic, or renal insufficiency, on beta blockers,anticonvulsants,any centrally acting medications, anticipated difficult airway, pregnancy, lactation, alchohol, substance abuse,allergy to drug, not willing patients
