Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All patients who are undergoing frontal craniotomy where retraction of the frontal lobe from the base of the brain is likely
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Critically ill patients Emergency neurosurgical procedures where time cannot be spent to place electrodes Patients who have already known to have lost olfaction because of previous trauma or surgery or any other condition. Patients whose clinical status (such as those with impaired consciousness) preclude testing of olfaction before surgery
