Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients admitted with a diagnosis of acute exacerbation of COPD or who are in stable state without any exacerbations in the last 3 months as defined by GOLD criteria 2019. 2. Age above 18 years of either gender. 3. Patient residing in India for the next one year and agreeing for follow-up as per protocol. 4. Patients willing to give written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who are being transferred to other hospitals for treatment. 2. Patients with diseases such as end stage renal disease, cardiogenic shock, liver failureor any other serious unrelated diseases that could limit the life expectancy to less than 90 days.

1.Acute Exacerbations of COPD-Time to first exacerbation after hospitalization due to index event, number of exacerbations, number of unscheduled and emergency department visits for COPD, number of hospitalizations for COPD, and number of ICU admissions for COPD during the study period. Timepoint: 0, 1, 6 and 12 months

1.Modified Medical Research Council scale (mMRC), Modified Borg Dyspnoea Scale, EQ-5D-5L questionnaire, Body mass index, obstructive, dyspnoea and exacerbations (BODEx), Dyspnoea, obstruction, smoking and exacerbations (DOSE), Age, dyspnoea and obstruction (ADO), COPD Assessment Test (CAT) and 6-minute walk test (6MWT) during the study period. 2.
