Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age 18 years or older of either gender Have a clinical and radiological diagnosis of ischaemic stroke Present within 48 hours of onset of symptoms or recognition of symptom in wake up stroke

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Presenting to hospital after 48 hours after symptom onset Stroke mimics (seizure, hypoglycaemia, toxic and metabolic encephalopathies) Haemorrhagic or venous stroke Patients admitted for palliative care or unlikely to survive for 72 hours Patients who are unable to contact by any means Patient or caregiver not giving consent
