Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a. The subject should be above 18 years of age. b. The subjects should be primiparous or in case of a multiparous pregnancy, the previous delivery should have been atleast 2 years back with no medical history of previous abortions or miscarriages in between.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a. The subject should not have been on any periconceptional supplementation of folic acid or vitamin B12. b. The subject should be a non-smoker and non-alcoholic. c. Subject more than 10 weeks of pregnancy will be excluded.

This work will provide importance of vitamin B12 during pregnancy and its effect on birth outcomes.Timepoint: 1. 10-14 Weeks 2. 34-36 Weeks of Preganancy 3. At Delivery (Cord Blood)

MeasureTime frame
To study the maternal to fetal transfer of vitamin B12 by measuring the cord blood vitamin B12 levels.Timepoint: 1. At Delivery
