Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Systemically healthy subjects. 2. Subjects in the age group of 25-60 years having moderate to severe â??chronic periodontitisâ??â?? 3. Patients who had atleast two quadrants with three teeth each having a pocket probing depth (PD) of >=5mm post â??Phase I therapy were included. 4. No medical conditions interfering with periodontal health or wound healing. 5. Subjects who were ready to co-operate with all the study related procedure and have signed the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients who were medically compromised. 2) Patients with any history of allergy to the material used in this study. 3) Patients who were on any drug therapy which is known to influence the periodontium. 4) Pregnant or lactating patients. 5) Patients were on antibiotic use (within the previous 3 months) 6) Patients who were alcoholic. 7) Patients who were smokers and tobacco users. 8) Patients who were on cardiac pacemaker. 9) Patients who had generalized recession.
